MySafe:California, a unit of the California Fire Prevention Organization helped to create a safer holiday season with distribution of fire prevention kits to a number of California fire departments. “California has been hit with a remarkable number of wildfires, an increase in structure fires and in fatalities this year,” noted MySafe:California’s executive officer David Barrett. “We would like to remind those agencies we work with that our thoughts are with them, and as we look to a new year, we’d like to make a bigger contribution to communities in need.”
The holiday fire safety kits includes a cache of 10-year First Alert smoke alarms, 3-year First Alert CO Detectors, Ready, Set, Go and FireSmart:California public safety brochures. Family escape plans, in both English and Spanish were also included.
